Scaling Up Sustainable Food Management in Tourism

In the project, practical factsheets for scaling up sustainable food management in tourism were developed within the framework of the One Planet Sustainable Tourism Programme and in close cooperation between UN Tourism, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and Futouris. The tools refer to

1) Online Training Modules including Fundamentals, Sustainable Food Procurement, Sustainable Communication and Waste Management.

2) Factsheets „Procuring Food Sustainably“ to support existing Sustainable Food Sourcing content, a series of factsheets were produced to raise awareness of the impact of “problem” foods (e.g. meat, seafood, soy, etc.) and provide tips on how to Supporting more responsible food choices.

3) Awareness campaign for policy makers, businesses and tourists on the importance of sustainable food management and its relevance to sustainable food systems.
